Brahman FFA team wins Dairy Judging State Championship

TAMPA -- The team from Okeechobee Brahman FFA was named as State Champions of the 2025 Florida FFA State High School Dairy Evaluation CDE on Feb. 15. TAMPA -- Congratulations to the team from Okeechobee Brahman FFA, named as State Champions of the 2025 Florida FFA State High School Dairy Evaluation CDE on Feb. 15.

Members of the state champion team, from Okeechobee High School of Okeechobee County, include Josh Larson, Kathryn Montes de Oca, Lillie Bandi and Ruby Keith, coached by Travis Larson with chapter advisors Megan Williamson, Clint Thompson, Jared Prescott and Brian Dryden.

The overall high scoring individual for the contest was Josh Larson of Okeechobee Brahman FFA.

9 — Aubrey Cook of Riverview HS FFA,

After qualifying through an online preliminary in November, each team competed on the state level at the Florida State Fairgrounds in Tampa on Feb. 15.

The Dairy Evaluation CDE challenges members to learn to evaluate live dairy cattle based on structure and confirmation for milk production, plus pedigrees and herd records.
