Ride for Rights event set
The 19th Judicial Circuit, Victim’s Rights Coalition presents its annual Ride for Rights on Saturday, April 13. Ride to benefit the victims of Okeechobee and the Treasure Coast. Riders from surrounding counties can choose to start from Okeechobee County or Martin County. Onsite registration for Okeechobee will be at the Okeechobee Sheriff’s Office, 504 N.W. Fourth St., from 9 to 9:45 a.m. Kickstands up at 10 a.m. For those choosing to start in Martin County onsite registration will be at Indiantown Sheriff’s Substation, 16550 S.W. Warfield Blvd., from 10 to 10:45 a.m. and kickstands up when all motorcycles arrive at the sub-station. You may download a registration form from www.19JCVRC.org. Princess tea party planned
Our Village Okeechobee is hosting a tea party on Saturday, April 13, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. in the Okeechobee High School Cafeteria, 2800 U.S. 441. Wear your favorite princess dress and come have a good time before the play, “Beauty and the Beast.” There will be games, food, and fun. Tickets are $15 per princess and per adult or you can purchase a four-ticket family pack for $50. Tickets admit you to the tea party and the play. Disney play to be performed
Okeechobee High School Thespian Troupe 7319 presents Disney’s “Beauty and the Beast.” It will take place at the high school, 2800 U.S. 441, in the Lecture Hall at 7:30 p.m. on April 12 and 13. Benefit to be held
American Legion post 64 will be hosting Quarters For A Cause, for the Lana Palmer Benefit. This event will take place on Tuesday, April 16, at 501 S.E. Second St., from 6 to 7 p.m. Doors will open at 6 p.m. Lana Palmer is a single visually impaired mom. Wear pastel colors to be entered into the Special Raffle. Paddles for bidding will be $2 each. Easter egg hunt to be held
First Baptist Church of Okeechobee is hosting an Easter Egg Hunt for children up to grade five. It will be open to the public on Saturday, April 20, at 10:30 a.m. at the Recreation Outreach Center, 310 S.W. Fifth Ave.
Pop warner sign-up begins
Okeechobee Bulls Youth Athletic League is a brand new local Pop Warner league in need of players. Early sign-ups are Saturday, April 20, and Saturday, May 18, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. daily, at the Sports Complex baseball fields, 580 N.W. 27th Lane. If you sign up on one of those dates the cost is $80 per child and $65 per each additional child. Sign-ups after that will be $100 per child and $85 per additional child. Sign up deadline is July 31. Children must be between the ages of five through fourteen and bring a copy of birth certificate. Teams will compete with surrounding cities and practices will take place locally. Rest assured that safety will be a priority and all staff and coaches will undergo training and background checks.

BUCKHEAD RIDGE — The VFW Post 9528, 29012 State Road 78 East in Buckhead Ridge will host the following events: A full breakfast will be served on Sunday, April 14, from 8 to 10:30 a.m. by The AMVETS. The VFW Auxiliary will serve a fried chicken, mashed potatoes, gravy, green beans, and dessert dinner on Wednesday, April 17, at 5 p.m. The post will serve dinner on Friday, April 19, from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Menu includes grilled boneless rib eye steak, grilled pork tenderloin, fried fish and shrimp, baked and french fried potatoes, baked sweet potatoes, fried onion rings, salad, and dessert. Wrestling team serves BBQ
The Okeechobee Wrestling team will hold the third annual BBQ Fundraiser on Friday, April 26, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Brahman Theatre, 1500 S.
