OKEECHOBEE -- Okeechobee County Board of County Commissioners recognized custodian staff who play an essential role in maintaining clean, safe, and welcoming environments across offices, public buildings, and community spaces by issuing a proclamation designating October 2, 2026 as National Custodians Day.
Custodians contribute far beyond routine cleaning, supporting safety, emergency response, and the overall operation and success of county facilities and services. Their professionalism, attention to detail, and pride in their work reflect the highest standards of public service and commitment to the community, the proclamation explains.
“National Custodian Day provides an opportunity to recognize the essential work of these hardworking individuals and to express our heartfelt gratitude for their efforts, which are often unseen but deeply appreciated by all. Those custodians are: Larissa McDuffie, lead custodian; Laura Carames, custodian, Devin Selliti, custodian; and Tiffany Triplett, custodian,” the proclamation states.
