OKEECHOBEE -- On June 9, 2024, at approximately 1:12 a.m., a two-vehicle accident was reported to the Okeechobee Police Department on NW Park Street and NW Sixth Avenue.
Prior to arrival, units were notified that one of the vehicles involved was an Okeechobee County Sheriff’s patrol car.
Upon further investigation, the deputy stated she had lost steering control of the vehicle while making a right turn onto NW Park Street, striking an oncoming Dodge, pickup truck.
Occupants of the pickup truck reported no injuries and refused medical treatment.
The deputy was transported to Raulerson Hospital and has since been released.
