OKEECHOBEE — In the past 87 days, your Okeechobee County Sheriff's Office has responded to 8,318 calls of service that required a case agency report to be pulled.

Deputies issued 1,774 Uniformed Traffic Citation, which breaks down to 543 civil penalties and 1232 written warnings. Daily undocumented verbal warnings reach close to a hundred on any given day.

These numbers add to 10,092 citizen contacts that resulted in some form of a documented report.

We average one citizen contact every 20 minutes in Okeechobee County.

We answer hundreds of other calls, sometimes thousands, each month that assist other agencies, deal with civil issues, help with a broken-down motorist, make citizen contacts, visit schools and businesses, and homeowner meetings when requested that don't need to be documented.

In just 87 days, we appreciate all the support.
