OKEECHOBEE -- A head-on collission was a fatal crash on June 1.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) report, the crash involved a sports utility vehicle (Vehicle 1), a tractor trailer (Vehicle 2) and a sedan (Vehicle 3).
The tractor trailer was driven by a 58-year-old Valdosta man.
The sedan was driven by a 43-year-old Okeechobee woman.
No information has been released about the driver of the SUV.
The FHP report states: "Vehicle 1 (nnknown make and model SUV) was traveling behind Vehicle 3, southbound on US-441. Vehicle 2 was traveling northbound on US-441. For unknown reasons at this time, Vehicle 1 attempted to pass Vehicle 3 and in doing so collided head on with Vehicled 2.
"The driver of Vehicle 1 (the SUV) succumbed to the injuries caused by the crash and was pronounced deceased on scene. This case is pending investigation. "
The driver of the tractor trailer received minor injuries, according to the FHP report. The driver of the sedan was not injured.
