OKEECHOBEE — On Tuesday, April 16, students at Everglades Elementary School competed in Battle of the Books! Battle of the Books is a national reading program designed to support the students’ love of reading while introducing them to new literature. Students have to read books and then come together for the competition where they can demonstrate their knowledge in a quiz-type tournament where teams answer questions based on the list of books they were required to read. Everglades is extremely proud of its Gators! The fifth grade team took home the trophy for first place and, after several tie-breaker rounds, the EES fourth grade team tied for first place too!
