Free meals for kids and teens this summer at the library

Posted

OKEECHOBEE — Come to the coolest spot this Summer! The Okeechobee County Public Library will be handing out free meals to kids and teens this summer. This program is available at no cost to Florida families.

Summer BreakSpot is a federally funded program facilitated by the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (FDACS). We are thrilled to help bridge the hunger gap by providing our community’s kids with nutritious meals and snacks to support their growth and development.

All locations will be serving seven breakfast and seven lunches per child ages 5 to 18.

Visit the same location at the same time each week to receive a full week’s supply of meals prepared by the Boys & Girls Clubs of Martin County Culinary Arts Program.

Starting the week when school lets out at these locations in the area:
Okeechobee Public Library: Address: 206 SW 16th St, Okeechobee, FL 34974

Date: Every Saturday beginning May 31
Time: 11 a.m. to noon
