Helicopter project is complete

I want to express deep gratitude to everyone that helped me take an idea in my head and bring it to fruition. There are so many people that helped make the Huey project a success that even though they don't want any recognition, I feel that they need to be mentioned.  Todd Chambers and the Friends of Army Aviation for the many questions I had and all the help finding parts needed and for helping to move the Huey out of the park and to the airport. John Entry for the help. Charles Lima and his crew at the airport paint shop for the sanding and painting. The aviation department of the Florida Forestry Service for the use of the ground equipment to roll the Huey in and out of the shop at the airport. Rosie Parker for purchasing the paint. Marcos Montes Deoca for the engineering. Galley Maid for the cutting of the materials. Jamie Starnes for welding everything up. Eddie Lehman and Rodger Garrison for the paint work on the stand. Frank DeCarlo for the equipment to build, move, and install the stand. WW Lumber and Home Depot for donating materials. Vest concrete for going in and installing the rebar and handling the concrete work. CRW/Mashmeyer for donating the concrete. Johnny Ray and his crew at Homefront Electric for the electrical work going on in the park and for the Huey. Again, big thanks to Frank DeCarlo, Kyle Reno, and the "Reno Gang" for jumping in and helping this to cross the finish line. Beyel Crane services for lofting it. The crew at Brown Cow for providing plenty of coffee and a place to work out the issues and obstacles.

Most importantly, I want to thank the donors who either donated by attending the Red, White, and Blue BBQ or by donating through the Chamber Leadership Class of 2024. I really want to thank the Vietnam Veterans that I have come in contact with that shared not only their stories but also their enthusiasm on this project to keep me going when things got difficult and discouragement started creeping in. You have never asked for anything but for this, and I hope it makes you as proud as I am to be a part of it.

So in closing I just wanted to share that there were more than just a few people involved in this, and they should be recognized as well.
Huey, Thank you for your service, Gregg Maynard
