OKEECHOBEE -- A Homestead man died in a May 31 traffic crash in Okeechobee County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol report.
According to FHP, the accident occured on May 31 around 6:45 p.m.
Vehicle one was a sedan driving by a 62-year-old Homestead man.
Vehicle 2 was a pickup truck driven by a 62-year-old Okeechobee man. A 65-year-old Okeechobee woman was a passenger was in the vehicle.
The FHP report states: "Vehicle 1 and Vehicle 2 were approaching the intersection of US Highway 441 and County Road 68 (NE 244th Street). Vehicle 1 was traveling westbound on CR-68 but failed to stop at stop sign, causing Vehicle 2, that was traveling southbound on US-44, to collide with Vehicle 1's right side. The driver of Vehicle 1 succumbed to the injuries caused by the crash and was pronounced deceased on scene. This case is pending investigation."
The driver of the sedan was fatally injured.
Both the driver and the passenger of the pickup truck were seriously injured.
