The following felony cases have either been tried in a court of law or have been settled without trial and are considered closed.

• Tanya Hise was sentenced to one year in county jail but with a suspended sentence of one year followed by three years probation after pleading no contest to possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia. Hise was arrested August 2020 during a traffic stop.

• Harvey Barr was sentenced to five years in state prison after pleading no contest to two counts possession with intent to sell within 1,000 feet of a house of worship or business. Barr was arrested in July 2019 during an undercover operation of the Okeechobee Narcotics Task Force.

• Donald Fry was sentenced to three months in county jail after pleading no contest to lewd and lascivious exhibition and exposure of sex organ.

• Sheldon Fortune was sentenced to six months in county jail after pleading no contest to possession of methamphetamine, possession of cocaine and giving a false name while being arrested. Fortune was arrested February 2019 during a traffic stop.

• Deborah Gillis was sentenced to two years probation after pleading no contest to possession of cocaine and possession of amphetamine. Gillis was arrested August 2020 during a traffic stop.

• Michael Graf was sentenced to eight months in county jail after pleading no contest to possession of synthetic cannabinoid and possession of drug paraphernalia. Graf was arrested in December 2020 during a traffic stop.

• Melissa Lamb was sentenced to 18 months probation after pleading no contest to fraudulent use of a credit card and criminal use of personal ID information. A charge of petit theft was dropped. Lamb was arrested January 2021 after using her boss’ credit card without permission.

• Kayla Marshall was sentenced to two years probation after pleading no contest to two counts battery, intentional child abuse and disorderly conduct. Marshall was arrested in January 2020 after she deliberately hit another woman’s baby in order to provoke a fight then hit the woman who tried to defend the baby.

• Lorenzo Martinez was sentenced to one year, two months and 12days in prison after pleading no contest to possession of a concealed weapon by a convicted felon, possession of drug paraphernalia and introduction of contraband into a detention facility. Martinez was arrested August 2020 after he was found sleeping in the doorway of Zaxby’s just after midnight.

• Christopher Miller was sentenced to one year and one day in state prison after pleading no contest to possession of methamphetamine, possession of oxycodone, possession of morphine, tampering with evidence and resisting an officer without violence. Medrano was arrested April 2020 after a traffic stop.

• Desiree Paulus was sentenced to two years probation after pleading no contest to burglary of a structure and petit theft second degree. Paulus was arrested in September 2020 after breaking into the Rustic Store on Park Street. Paulus was employed as a home health nurse for the store owner’s nephew and was somehow able to guess the code to get in the door of the shop. She was caught after the owner checked her video surveillance camera because she was missing money. Adjudication was withheld.
