Juvenile accused of discharging firearm at occupied vehicles

OKEECHOBEE -- On Feb. 6, 2026, deputies responded to the Douglas Park neighborhood following reports of a shooting. During the subsequent investigation, detectives with the Criminal Investigations Division determined that Terry Leon Taylor (a juvenile) knowingly discharged a firearm at two occupied vehicles containing juveniles.
 
Investigators also determined that Taylor attempted to falsely implicate an uninvolved juvenile in the incident.
 
Taylor was taken into custody on Feb. 11, 2026, and transported to the Department of Juvenile Justice.
 
Taylor has been charged with the following offenses:
• Three  counts of Firing a Deadly Missile at a Dwelling or Conveyance,
• Six  counts of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon
• Six counts of Child Abuse,
• One count of Reckless Endangerment,
• One count of Providing False Information to Law Enforcement.
 
This investigation remains ongoing.
