OKEECHOBEE -- The Kiwanis Club of Okeechobee presented their Quarterly Community Service Award to Matthew Buxton AKA ‘Santa’ (right) for his dedicated service to the community. Matt is a four-time Past Master of the Okeechobee Masonic Lodge and a board member for Hospice of Okeechobee. For over 30 years, Matt has blessed the community filling the role as Santa for local fundraisers, including Shop With a Cop, Toys for Tots, photos with the Grinch, Santa in the Park, and more. Matt shared how he is proud to be able to support our community and follow his father’s legacy, mentioning he still has his father’s Santa suits from 40 years ago.
