The following individuals were arrested on felony or driving under the influence (DUI) charges by the Okeechobee County Sheriff’s Office (OCSO), the Okeechobee City Police Department (OPD), the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP), the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC), the Department of Corrections (DOC) or the Okeechobee Narcotics Task Force (ONTF).
• Omar Mederos, 22, Southeast Eighth Drive, was arrested July 29 by OCSO and charged with DUI. His breath test results were reported to be 0.217, 0.238 and 0.235. Bond was set at $500.
• Devon Chavis, 18, Southeast 96th Trail, was arrested July 29 by OCSO and charged with possession of marijuana resin and possession of marijuana under 20 grams. Bond was set at $2,000.
• Kevin Blackmon, 44, Southeast 57th Drive, was arrested July 29 by OCSO and charged with failure to reregister as required. Bond was set at $3,000.
• Artura Lerma, 72, U.S. 441 Southeast, was arrested July 30 by OCSO and charged with DUI. Breath test results were reported to be 0.162 and 0.159. Bond was set at $500.
• Thomas Martin, 34, Southwest Second Street, was arrested July 30 by OCSO and charged with possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia. Bond was set at $6,000.
• Ademilson Oliveira, 60, Northwest 31st Street, was arrested July 30 by OCSO and charged with DUI. Bond was set at $1,000.
• William White, 63, Southeast 50th Avenue, was arrested July 31 by OCSO and charged with DUI. Bond was set at $1,000.
• Johnny Johnson, 58, Southeast 33rd Street, was arrested August 3 by OCSO and charged with harvesting an endangered plant without a permit, possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia. Bond was set at $3,500.
• Jacob Lawrence, 18, Northeast Fourth Lane, was arrested August 3 by OCSO and charged with violation of pre-trial conditions. Bond was set at $1,500.
• Marvin Thomas, 42, Northwest 35th Street, was arrested August 3 by OCSO and charged with sexual battery on a child over the age of 12. Bond was set at $200,000.
