OKEECHOBEE -- The Okeechobee County Fair opened March 11 and runs through March 16 at the Okeechobee County Agri-Civic Center, 4601 State Road 710.
The fair includes a carnival midway, special entertainment, local cooking, arts and crafts competitions, a petting zoo and a demolition derby. General admission is $5 per person. Children under age 5 will be admitted free.
On Thursday, March 13, moms will be admitted free with paid child admission.
Fair hours are: 5 p.m. to 11 p.m., Thursday; 5 p.m. to midnight, Friday; noon to midnight on Saturday; and noon to 9 p.m. Sunday.
The demolition derby is planned for March 15 at 6 p.m. Tickets for the derby are $10 and available online at okeechobeecountyfair.com.
Fair entertainment includes the Flying Cortes, Pompeyo Dog Show, Motor Drome motorcycles, Pirate Man Dan and One Man Band.
