OKEECHOBEE – Hearing Aid Specialist Jamey Binneveld recently opened Okeechobee’s Best Hearing in the Winn-Dixie Plaza.

On Dec. 2, representatives of the Okeechobee Chamber of Commerce, Mayor Dowling Watford, County Commissioners Michael Sumner, David Hazellief and Frank DeCarlo and community members gathered for a ribbon-cutting at the new business.

Binneveld said she became a hearing aid specialist because she “really wanted to be in a profession where I can help people.” She said her services can be life-changing for those suffering from hearing loss.

Binneveld, who has 20 years’ experience as a hearing aid specialist, is originally from Sebring.

She has been a volunteer at Kissimmee Prairie Preserve State Park since 2022.  She monitors the endangered crested caracara nests, providing valuable data that aids prescribed fire operations.

Binneveld is an accomplished wildlife photographer. Her Okeechobee store is decorated with some of her wildlife photographs.

Okeechobee’s Best Hearing, 3268 U.S. 441 S, is open Monday-Thursday from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Walk-ins are welcome.
