Okeechobee Utility Authority Collection System reported at 8:30 p.m. on Oct. 3 approximately 4,000 to 5,000 gallons of raw sewage were released from a lift station in the City of Okeechobee.

OUA cleaned up raw sewage spill Oct. 3

OKEECHOBEE — Okeechobee Utility Authority Collection System reported at 8:30 p.m. on Oct. 3 approximately 4,000 to 5,000 gallons of raw sewage were released from a lift station in the City of Okeechobee due to heavy rains (4.5” in a short time frame). The release entered a drainage ditch and no waterways were impacted. Cleanup actions were completed at approximately 9:30 p.m. Oct. 3.
