OKEECHOBEE — A Quarters for a Cause benefit will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 20, at the Okeechobee Civic Center, 1750 US 98 N., for Johnny “Strawberry” Taylor.
Strawberry was recently diagnosed with Diffuse Large B Cell Lymphoma Stage 4 cancer and is not able to work. He began chemo on Aug. 12, followed by radiation. His wife works for Martha’s House, however, she will be missing work due to traveling for his chemo treatments. Strawberry has been with Total Roadside Services for over 14 years. He is known as the “do-all-catch-all”.
This benefit will go to support Strawberry and his family in their time of need.
The doors will open at 6 p.m. and the quarter auction begins at 7 p.m. There will be a 50/50 drawing, Chinese raffles, and vendors with cash-and-carry. Food and beverages will be available to purchase from Our Village. Wear orange to be entered into the special raffle.
