OKEECHOBEE -- On Jan. 24 a heartwarming bundle of joy arrived at the Okeechobee Animal Control Shelter in the form of seven puppies. Each pup brings a unique charm and personality to the mix, from the spirited bounces of the curious explorer to the gentle cuddles of the affectionate companion. These little ones, with their curly tails and bright eyes, are set to steal the hearts of prospective adopters as they become available for adoption on Friday, Jan. 26.
The momma dog is said to be a chihuahua mix, but the surrendering party was uncertain of the father. The puppies are currently approximately 8 weeks old and are each around 2 pounds. Shelter officials expect the pups could be 15 to 20 pounds when grown.
