OKEECHOBEE — One of Okeechobee's most well-known Special Olympic athletes, Carol Marker has read to ESE classes in Okeechobee schools across the county for 4 years now, spreading the word of Inclusion. As an Athlete leader for Special Olympics Florida Carol is encouraged to give back to her community. One of the ways she does this is by participating in Literacy Week and reading to ESE classes. It’s important to her because some of the classrooms she goes into are ones that she attended as a student in Okeechobee. [Courtesy photo]
