Two accused of narcotics sales

Posted

OKEECHOBEE — The Okeechobee County Sheriff’s Office SWAT team and the Narcotics Task Force members conducted a probable cause search warrant at 1679 N.E. Fifth St. on the morning of Friday, Aug. 6, which resulted in the arrest of two local men and the recovery of narcotics.

Tony Andrews Jackson and Ronald Lee Jackson were arrested and charged with selling a controlled substance with hydromorphone within 1000 feet of a park.

Friday marked the second narcotics-related search warrant in just four months involving Tony Lee Jackson and this address; the last was conducted in April of 2021.

The officers recovered $1,400 in cash during a search residence along with numerous Hydromorphone tablets and drug paraphernalia commonly associated with this type of illegal activity and sales.

Hydromorphone is an opioid narcotic pain reliever similar to oxycodone, morphine, methadone, fentanyl, and other opioids, strictly regulated through prescription.

The Narcotics Tast Force will continue to work with our community, develop cases and serve probable cause search and arrest warrants for those that continue this type of activity within Okeechobee County.
