Posted

OKEECHOBEE — On Saturday, Sept. 13, Vlasmir Hernandez-Gonzalez, 29, was arrested by OCSO Deputy D. Abdelquader and charged with domestic battery by strangulation and burglary with assault/battery.

Early that morning Deputy Abdelquader responded to a burglary and domestic battery complaint on Northwest 24th Avenue.

According the arrest affidavit, a female victim reports she had been sleeping when her ex-boyfriend, Vlasmir, attacked her. The victim explained that Vlasmir believed that she had been cheating on him. The victim stated that she woke up to Vlasmir punching her and she tried to escape but he kept hitting her. She alleges that he then grabbed her cellphone and began taking pictures of it and when she began to scream for her son to help her, that he covered her mouth with his hand and put his other hand on her neck, restricting her airway. Eventually the victim was able to escape and Vlasmir fled her residence.

When Deputy Abdelquader arrived at the victim’s home he observed her for any injuries that would indicate she was in a physical altercation. He observed that her right eye was dark and swollen and that she had a scratch on the side of her face as well as scratches on her arms. The victim told the deputy that a camera placed in her room was able to capture the audio of the attack but was not recording video.

The deputy looked for signs of forced entry at the residence but was unable to locate any pry marks or damage caused to the back door where Vlasmir allegedly made entry.

Vlasmir was located at Northwest 11th Avenue where he rents a room. Vlasmir was asleep when the deputy arrived and the homeowner advised that he did not know when Vlasmir returned. According to the deputy’s narrative, Vlasmir had dried blood on his hands but no cuts or scratches could be located to correlate with the blood.

Vlasmir stated that he did not know what he was doing and that his father had recently passed. He was placed under arrest and charged with domestic battery by strangulation and burglary with assault/battery.

Bond was set at $75,000.
