OKEECHOBEE — On Saturday, Sept. 6, Brianna Duffield, 20, was arrested by OCSO Deputy N. Jones and charged with criminal mischief $1,000 or more.
On Friday, Aug. 22, at approximately 9:30 p.m. Deputy Jones responded to a call on Northeast 60th Court in reference to a complaint of slashed tires on a vehicle.
When the deputy arrived the caller explained that Brianna parked in her driveway, honked her horn and started yelling for her to come outside and fight her and then began throwing trash in the yard. The caller explained that there was a camera outside the residence that caught the ordeal, however, she explained at one point Brianna walked to the front door, out of view of the camera, and reappeared next to a truck owned by one of the occupants of the home at the time of the incident.
The report indivates that it was the truck tires that were slashed but is not clear on when the residents discovered the damage and states that the camera did not actually capture Brianna slashing the tires.
While Brianna was standing next to the truck she began laughing and saying, “Come get me now,” according to the arrest affidavit. Apparently, after realizing that no one was going to come outside and fight her, she then attempted to leave and backed her vehicle off the edge of the driveway and into the ditch. Brianna’s vehicle was reportedly stuck for around 30 minutes until multiple neighbors tied the vehicle to their own and pulled it out of the ditch. The entire debacle was captured on the complainants home camera.
The owner of the truck advised that he would like to press charges against Brianna for the damage done to his vehicle’s tires and a BOLO was issued for Brianna’s vehicle.
Multiple attempts to contact Brianna were made by phone but she never answered. The complaintant from the initial incident provided an address where Brianna supposedly lived with her current boyfriend and his father but when deputies attempted to make contact there they were told that she no longer stayed there. Her boyfriend’s father said that if he saw her he would contact OCSO but he never called.
On Saturday, Sept. 6, Deputy Jones responded to Lakeside Car Wash on Highway 441 Southeast in reference to a disabled vehicle. The callers keys had been locked inside the vehicle. The caller was Brianna Duffield.
When the deputy made contact with Brianna and explained that they had been looking for her she admitted that she had been at the house where the truck tires had been slashed and knew they had been slashed but did not state whether or not she had done it. She admitted that she had been there to fight the complaintant due to the complaintant now dating Brianna’s ex-boyfriend.
Brianna was placed under arrest and charged with criminal mischief $1000 or more due to the value of the slashed tires being $500 each.
Bond was set at $5,000.
