CLEWISTON — After a slight delay, Goodwill Industries of Southwest Florida opened their new Clewiston Retail & Donation Center and Community Resource Center (CRC). The improved, large retail space was bustling with shoppers on Saturday, Dec. 19. This new location will further support Goodwill’s mission services by also providing housing multiple community partners under the same roof.

“Last year, we served 1,139 individuals and their families in the Clewiston community providing a variety of services to overcome barriers to self-sufficiency,” stated Fred Richards, Goodwill SWFL Vice President of Community Support Services.

By offering free one-on-one services, the CRC will assist with SNAP, LIHEAP, CARES applications, and other services to help the Clewiston community overcome barriers. Also, job seekers can receive skills assessments, in-person and virtual career coaching, resume and cover letter writing and assistance with applications. The center has also made use of computers, literacy classes, digital media training, and bulletin boards with the area’s most recent job openings, and other employment resources available for anyone in need.

“The new location is a perfect fit for us,” said Goodwill Industries of SWFL CEO and President John Nadeau. “We are excited to be able to bring a brand new store and expanded services to the Clewiston community.”

Racks of clothing and full shelves, the new 7,600 square foot retail space was opened just in time for last minute holiday shopping.

“Our new and improved Clewiston store is full of beautiful treasures. Come check them out like these happy treasure hunters enjoyed. Our store is fully restocked with ready for your to enjoy the hunt,” Goodwill Industries of Southwest Florida posted on their official Facebook page.
