OKEECHOBEE —The Okeechobee Garden Club's first meeting was on June 11. Florida Federation of Garden Clubs District Director X, Maria Wolfe, presented a copy of "My Green Is Gone" to Okeechobee County Library Manager Kresta King. This children's book was written by the National Garden Club President Brenda Moore. The garden club's next meeting will be Tuesday, July 9 at 10:30 a.m. The speaker will be Mike Sands, owner of Tangled Roots Orchid Nursery. He will be educating the club on the care of orchids. The meeting will be at the Okeechobee Public Library, 206 SW 16th Street, Okeechobee. Everyone is welcome.
