OKEECHOBEE — HCA Florida Raulerson Hospital hosted its second We Show Up for Our Communities service project to mark the one-year anniversary of the HCA Florida Healthcare brand launch. Raulerson colleagues joined together to donate 285 volunteer hours supporting multiple nonprofit organizations throughout the month of March including:
• Distributing 46,000 pounds of food via Treasure Coast Food Bank mobile food pantry events;
• Volunteering at Okeechobee Music Festival general stores where tips from the weekends sales totaling $11,000 were donated to the Education Foundation of Okeechobee scholarship fund;
• Partnering with OneBlood to host a blood drive that collected enough units to impact 64 lives; and,
• Supporting Real Life Children’s Ranch by organizing a campus beautification project.
“At our core, Raulerson’s greatest strength is our people,” said Brian Melear chief executive officer at HCA Florida Raulerson Hospital, “and I’m grateful for each and every colleague that lent their time and talents to help us deliver our mission: above all else, we are committed to the care and improvement of human life.”
