OKEECHOBEE — On Monday, Sept. 21, public works crews were at Osceola Middle School and the surrounding area to inspect the drainage systems and work to improve water flow after heavy rain caused flooding overnight.
Commissioner Frank DeCarlo was on site this morning and in a video posted to the Okeechobee County Government Facebook page he reported that the area received around six inches of rain.
South Elementary School had to be drained as well and many other homes and properties in the southwest area of Okeechobee faced flooding.
