HENDRY COUNTY, Fla. – The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) advises motorists of temporary turn lane closures at the intersection of U.S. 27 (S.R. 25/S.R. 80) and Olympia Street on Wednesday night, October 28, 2026, as crews perform emergency traffic signal repairs.
The repairs are necessary following damage to the traffic signal's electrical power supply during directional boring operations. The traffic signal is currently operational following temporary wiring repairs. Crews will install permanent wiring to restore the signal's electrical connections.
Traffic control officers will be present to assist motorists during the temporary turn lane closures.
Pedestrian crossings on the north side of U.S. 27 at Olympia Street remain operational. The pedestrian crossing on the south side will remain temporarily closed, with a detour in place until repairs are completed.
Motorists and pedestrians should use caution, follow posted signs and directions from traffic control officers, and expect possible delays in the area.
This work is part of the U.S. 27 (S.R. 25/S.R. 80) roadway improvement project from Industrial Canal to West Sagamore Avenue in Hendry County.
