Glades Central and Glades Day were the only area teams to win last week, and the Raiders did it in a big way with a 60-0 shutout to open district play. Pahokee dropped a three-point decision at home, Okeechobee is heading into Homecoming Week, and Clewiston and Moore Haven both took lopsided losses.

Pahokee Blue Devils (4-2)

Pahokee has now lost two home games by a combined seven points. After winning 21-17 at Boynton Beach on Sept. 18, the Blue Devils fell 23-20 to John Carroll Catholic at Anquan Boldin Stadium on Sept. 25. The Golden Rams, who beat Glades Central 42-27 in August, improved to 4-1 and have won 12 of their last 15 games dating back to last season.

The loss followed a 21-17 home defeat to Atlantic on Sept. 10. Pahokee's schedule shows an open date this week. The Blue Devils return to action at Vero Beach at 7 p.m. on Oct. 9.

Glades Central Raiders (2-3)

Glades Central bounced back from a 10-7 home loss to Royal Palm Beach in dominant fashion. The Raiders routed Boynton Beach 60-0 at home on Sept. 25. Zhaire Davis ran for 146 yards and two touchdowns on just five carries, including a 65-yarder, and the defense recorded three sacks. The win came in the Raiders' 3A District 14 opener.

Glades Central faces a much tougher test this week when it hosts West Boca Raton at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 2. The Bulls (4-1) are coming off a 57-0 win over Olympic Heights and have won 11 of their last 12 games dating back to last season. Quarterback Trey Moran threw for 157 yards and a touchdown and ran for another score, and the defense had seven sacks. West Boca's only loss was a one-point decision against St. John's on Sept. 19.

Okeechobee Brahmans (2-4)

The Brahmans will try to snap a four-game losing streak in front of their Homecoming crowd. Okeechobee fell 24-6 at Lake Placid on Sept. 25. The Dragons improved to 4-3 with their second straight win.

The skid began with the 48-0 loss to Space Coast and continued with the 14-8 loss at Clewiston. It also included a 30-24 home loss to St. Edward's on Sept. 11.

Okeechobee celebrates Homecoming this week when it hosts Port St. Lucie at 7 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 2. The Jaguars are a promising Homecoming opponent. They are 0-5 and coming off a 35-0 loss at Jensen Beach, and they have lost 15 straight games dating back to last season.

Glades Day Gators (2-5)

Glades Day got back in the win column at home. The Gators beat Master's Academy 28-21 in Belle Glade on Thursday, Sept. 24, ending a three-game losing streak. That streak included a 35-0 loss to Coral Shores.

Glades Day hits the road this week to face St. Edward's in Vero Beach at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 1. The Pirates (3-4) are coming off a 29-0 win over All Saints' Academy. They are the same team that beat Okeechobee 30-24 on Sept. 11.

Clewiston Tigers (1-5)

Clewiston has struggled since picking up coach Pablo Sanchez's first win against Okeechobee. The Tigers fell 49-6 at Lemon Bay on Sept. 25. The Manta Rays improved to 5-2 and have won five of their last six. That followed a 35-0 home loss to Calvary Christian Academy on Sept. 11.

Clewiston returns to Cane Field this week to host Oxbridge Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 2. The ThunderWolves (3-3) are coming off a 29-14 loss to Coral Shores. Oxbridge has a dangerous quarterback in Brady Basis. He threw for 278 yards and four touchdowns and ran for another score in a 36-6 win over Suncoast earlier this month. Clewiston beat Oxbridge 42-32 when the teams met last season.

Moore Haven Terriers (1-4)

Moore Haven ran into one of the state's top small-school programs last week. The Terriers lost 51-6 at home to Lakeland Christian on Sept. 25, their third straight loss. The Vikings improved to 6-0, and every one of their wins has come by at least 20 points. Senior quarterback Brody Brenneman threw for 201 yards and three touchdowns.

Moore Haven hits the road this week to face Tradition Prep in Port St. Lucie at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 1. The Pirates (1-5) are coming off a 48-0 home loss to Jupiter Christian and have lost seven of their last eight games dating back to last season.
