Gov. Ron DeSantis, in a series of executive orders out Friday, March 20, prohibited eating in Florida restaurants, ordered all commercial gyms and fitness studios closed, and suspended legal requirements that local governments have a physical quorum when they meet to conduct business.
The orders will remain in effect until at least May 8, when another executive order declaring a state of emergency is set to expire.
Officials reported earlier in the day that the number of Floridians infected grew by 81, a 20% increase to 474 cases, with the state's Department of Health reporting another 46 cases in non-Florida residents
