Hendry County will be hosting free Community Clean-Up events in North and South LaBelle over the next month. Residents can drive up to the location and dispose of their waste with assistance from county employees. These clean-up events are held to help the community clean up their yards and homes of unwanted debris and waste. These events help Hendry County residents eliminate the cost of that disposal.

These clean-up events are specifically designed for residents of unincorporated Hendry County. They will not be accepting any commercial waste or any waste from businesses, especially commercial tires. From residents, the county will be accepting tires, yard debris, hazardous waste and more. Furniture, White Goods and TV’s can be placed curbside with regular trash pickup, please do not bring those items.

Employees from several Hendry County departments within the Board of County Commissioners will be present for residents to ask questions or voice any concerns. Some of the participating departments are: Code Enforcement, Emergency Management, Road & Bridge, Waste and Mosquito Control. There will be free food and drinks available along with informational material and resources.

The Community Clean-Up in North LaBelle will take place on August 25 at North State Road 29 and Marion St. from 9-12 p.m. or until bins are full. The South LaBelle clean-up will take place on September 8 at the LaBelle Rodeo Grounds on South State Road 29 from 9-12 p.m. or until bins are full.
