To ensure that our legal system functions properly, it is mandatory that we select judges with a solid intellectual understanding of the law, experience as a practicing attorney, and a strong work ethic.
In 1983 Judge Cupp received his Bachelor of Arts with degrees in English and Theology from Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. In 1986 he received his Juris Doctorate degree from Western New England University School of Law located in Springfield, Massachusetts.
Judge Cupp began his legal career as a prosecutor and for 17 years was an assistant state attorney in Florida’s Twentieth (Lee County), Fifteenth (Palm Beach County) and Third (Suwannee County) circuits. Throughout the 1990s he was a nationally recognized speaker and instructor in the area of prosecuting child abuse and child homicides with the National Center for the Prosecution of Child Abuse located in Alexandria, Virginia. He has been a prosecutor, a defense attorney, a teacher, a strong advocate for child victims and the less fortunate in our society.
