Frightening discovery at Winn Dixie

Posted

While grocery shopping with her father at the LaBelle Winn Dixie this weekend, a young girl spotted some disturbing messages on a board that stated, “Kill a person” and “Who is next?” along with some hand prints.

The father, upon being alerted, posted about his daughter’s alarming findings on Facebook. That Facebook post that was immediately investigated by the Hendry County Sheriff Steve Whidden, as soon as he saw it on Facebook, as possible threats like this are always considered serious. He noted that arrests have been made in the recent past, when individuals have made similar threats.

Whidden said that he reached out to the girl’s father to find out the details. Deputies then questioned the employee, only to discover the messages were not intended as threats but instead were meant as a Halloween-themed joke. The store managers mentioned they would be talking to the employee about the incident.
