On Saturday, November 16, a group of volunteers gathered in LaBelle to raise the walls on a future Habitat for Humanity of Lee and Hendry counties home. Habitat for Humanity is a faith-based, nonprofit housing organization serving low to moderate-income families with affordable homeownership opportunities. To date, Habitat for Humanity of Lee and Hendry Counties has built 25 homes in Hendry County. This year, they are building two homes in LaBelle, and residents interested in applying for Habitat’s affordable homeownership program are encouraged to attend Habitat’s Homeownership Information Meeting taking place at First Bank (301 FL-80, LaBelle, FL 33935) on December 10 from 5:30—6:30 p.m. Habitat for Humanity of Lee and Hendry Counties is a Housing and Urban Development (HUD) approved organization that provides financial counseling in addition to affordable homeownership opportunities.
