Hendry County Begins Live Streaming Meetings

Posted

Hendry County Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) will begin live streaming all of the County Commission meetings through their social media Facebook® page. The first live stream will be on the February 28, workshop on the Land Development Code and Comprehensive Plan beginning at 3:00 p.m. followed by the regular scheduled business meeting at 5:00 p.m. in the Commission Chambers at the Hendry County Courthouse in LaBelle.

Live streaming meetings is an added feature to allow the County to improve transparency and communicate better with our residents. This is the quickest and most efficient way for the County to include the general public in the government decision making process and engage in local discussions.

“Hendry County strives to engage and distribute information through all media outlets in order to maximize transparency and facilitate two-way communication between the County and residents,” said County Administrator Charles Chapman. “Live streaming is just one more step we are taking to ensure residents have access to the information and decisions made through their government.”

County Commission meetings will be live streamed through the Hendry County Facebook® page so that residents are able to watch the meetings as they are taking place. The live stream will then be available as a video shortly after the meeting has ended. The videos will also be uploaded and archived to the Hendry County BOCC website, www.hendryfla.net, for residents who do not use social media.
