-WHAT: Shelters for those who need it during the event of Hurricane Irma will be open Friday, September 8, 2017 beginning at 3pm on both sides of the County. Initial shelters will be LaBelle Middle School and Clewiston High School. If needed, other shelters will be opened across the County and will be named at a later time. If you plan to move to a shelter, please bring 3 days of food and water for you and any loved ones you are bringing with you to the shelter.

WHERE:
The special needs shelter will open at 2pm on Friday, September 8, 2017, persons in need must have a caretaker with them while staying at the shelter.
Please bring enough food and water for 3 days.
WHAT: Sandbags are now available for public pickup. Residents will need to bring their own shovel and will be responsible for loading their own sandbags into their vehicles. Residents are asked to be courteous to their fellow Hendry residents and limit themselves to 25 sandbags. Please only take what your family needs.
Hookers Point Park is waiting on sand to be delivered and the rodeo grounds in LaBelle is waiting for additional bags. We will inform the public as soon as these materials become available.
