Life can get really groovy by surrendering our desires

Posted

Sometimes we get so caught up with our goals, dreams, and desires that it’s hard to let go of our attachment to the outcome.

We spend so much energy on trying to make things happen and working tirelessly for the end results that we burn ourselves out and actually end up pinching off the flow of what we desire from coming to us.

Life gets really groovy when we realize that there is power in surrendering our desires to a strength beyond our own.

If we can get really clear on our desires, set a strong intention for making our desired outcomes a part of our life experience, take inspired action to move closer towards our desires, and then let go of the “how” (how it’s going to unfold for us), the universe always seems to work on our behalf in bringing those things that we desire around to us.

This is the formula for success in our daily lives!

There is a lyric in one of my favorite songs by singer/songwriter Jason Mraz, “Make it Mine”. It says “leap and the net will appear”. This sort of leap requires faith; faith that you don’t have to have all the answers to take the first step, faith that as you drive down the highway of life you only have to see the next bit of the road ahead of you, and faith that the destination will arrive without you having to see it from the start of your journey.

This week I encourage you to set a goal, focus your attention on something that you strongly desire. Next, when you feel a gut instinct calling you to act on moving you closer to that goal or desire, act on it. And, finally let go and trust that you’re being supported by a strength outside of yourself and don’t try so hard on the figuring out “how” the goal will be made manifest. Let it go.

Sit back and watch how easily things will begin to flow to you when you let go of your attachment to the outcome!
