Clewiston Church is hosting the very first Hendry County, Night to Shine a special event that will take place simultaneously around the world on February 7, 2020. Formed through Tim Tebow Foundation, a Night to Shine is a prom night experience for persons with special needs aged 14 and up. Clewiston’s Night to Shine will be held at the John Boy Auditorium on February 7, 2020 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
The first Night to Shine was held in 2015, when 15,000 volunteers came together to honor 7,000 guests. Last year, 200,000 volunteers worked to serve 100,000 honored guests.
“We are so humbled to see what God is doing through this worldwide movement and it is truly amazing to see what happens when you tell 100,000 Kings and Queens of the prom that God LOVES them and has a special plan for their life,” says Kimberly Harp, a dedicated Night to Shine volunteer.
First United Methodist Church of Clewiston requests donations of prom outfits for our the honored guests that will attend the Tim Tebow Foundation’s Night to Shine. Please drop off your gently worn, cleaned prom dresses and suits or tuxedos at the office at 352 W Arcade Avenue in Clewiston, on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday between 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. Honored guests will be invited to try on the donated gently used prom gowns or suits at First UMC of Clewiston LEC. Interested in volunteering? Volunteer meetings will be held Wednesday, January 29, and Thursday, January 30 at 7:00 p.m. at the at First UMC of Clewiston LEC 331 W Osceola Ave. Volunteers must make one of these two meetings.
