Two Peas supports Relay for life

SR 29S meeting

Residents with zoning or other county-related questions are invited to a Town Hall meeting April 7 at Primero Iglesia Bautista, 3931 SR 29S, at 6 p.m. Commissioner Darrell Harris and county staff will be available to answer questions about the Case, Evans and A Road area. Climate featured at Audobon program

The March Hendry-Glades Audubon program, “Climate Reality” will feature Rhonda Roff, Hendry-Glades Audubon’s Conservation Chair. This free event will be held Monday, March 21, at the Hendry County Cooperative Extension Dallas Townsend Building located at 1085 Pratt Blvd. in LaBelle at 7 p.m. Rhonda Roff is an environmental chemist who has worked in private industry, nonprofit organizations, and government. She moved to Florida in 1996 to work on water related issues for the Seminole Tribe of Florida. Since 2006 she has focused on safe and sustainable energy policy advocacy from her solar powered home in Hendry County where she lives with her husband and two children. She is certified as a Florida master naturalist and climate reality presenter. Celebrate Spring by donating books, posters, collectables, and other items that can be repurposed to the free raffle drawing to be held for meeting participants at the end of the meeting.

Spring Arts Festival

The 2016 Spring Arts Festival will be held Thursday, March 17, at LaBelle High School 5-8:30 p.m. It will feature a Taste of LaBelle (local restaurants serving their finest foods), exhibiting art and bands from all the schools plus the color guard. Help support Zac’s Friendship House

Zac’s Triple Play 5k will take place on March 19 at 7:30 a.m., beginning and ending at Zac’s Friendship House. Doggy fashion, doggy fun

Animal Rescue presents a doggy fashion show at Barron Park Saturday, March 19, 2 p.m. Walkers and pets will be judged for best costume.

There will be chicken dinners for sale for $6, a 50/50 raffle and a demonstration by sensei Earl Stockwell’s Hanokami Kai kids. Registration starts at 1:30 p.m. All proceeds go to your local no kill shelter Animal Rescue, Inc.

Back to the ‘60s

Come hear the Firehouse Singers rock out in “Age of Aquarius,” (songs from the ‘60s). This musical review will be performed April 1-2, 7-9, at 7 p.m. and April 3 and 10 at 2 p.m. at the Firehouse Community Theater which is located at 241 N. Bridge Street in LaBelle. Gathering of Christian Men fundraiser

The Gathering of Christian Men will have a scholarship fund raiser, offering 100 gallons of free gas. All proceeds will go to their scholarship program for LaBelle High School students. Messiah in the Passover

A vivid and exciting demonstration showing how Jesus fulfilled the ancient feast of Passover will be held Friday, March 25, at 7 p.m. at Carlson Memorial United Methodist Church, 310 Campbell Street, conducted by Greg Savitt of Chosen People Ministries. It gives the Christian community insight into Jewish traditions so their Jewish roots can be better understood.
