The City of LaBelle has a lease on 200+/- acres with the goal to become a ‘passive park’ – The name is officially “The LaBelle River Park.” We need full community help to continue to show progress in developing it into a park for hiking, bicycling, picnicking and horseback riding. Saturday, May 21, from 8–11 a.m. we are scheduled for a community workday. The park is located just north of the river, turn east onto Riverbend Drive (first road to the right north of the ‘ river), go through the gate and we will meet on the right in the ‘corral’. Wear work clothes, long sleeves and pants, closed toe shoes, hat and sunscreen; bring water, gloves, clippers, loppers, pruning saw, shovel, hoe– whatever you have and can work with. We are eager for all help and input for the development of the River Park. For further information, call or text Julie 863-673-4529.
