On November 19, 2016 at approximately 4:00 p.m., Hendry County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested and charged two individuals on Marijuana Possession after being stopped for speeding.
The driver of the vehicle was identified as 20 year old Brittany Boxie of Tallahassee, Florida. The passenger was identified as 23 year old William Joshua Thomas of LaBelle. During the traffic stop both individuals became very nervous.
After speaking with the occupants of the vehicle, the deputy requested assistance from the on-duty K9s that later indicated a positive alert for drugs. A search of the property revealed approximately 3 pounds of Marijuana in the trunk of the vehicle along with other miscellaneous items.
Both subjects were taken into custody and transported to the Hendry County Jail.
While taking Thomas into custody deputies located a small amount of marijuana on him. Thomas was charged with Driving with a Suspended Drivers License, Felony Possession with Intent to Sell Marijuana, and Marijuana Possession under 20 grams. He was released on November 20, 2016 on $5,500 bond.
Boxie was charged with Felony Possession with Intent to Sell Marijuana. She was also released on November 20, 2016 on $3,500.00 bond.
