Visitation policy change at HRMC due to covid effective Dec. 30

Posted

CLEWISTON  -- Due to the increased prevalence of COVID-19 in the community,   the following visitation policy changes have gone into effect at Hendry Regional Medical Center:

• Emergency Department: No visitors. Pediatric patients or patients with disruptive behavior, behavioral health diagnoses, altered mental status, developmental delays, or safety concerns may have 1 visitor (parent or guardian).

• Hospitalized patients: No visitors are allowed for hospitalized patients.

• Outpatient procedures/surgery: Patients undergoing outpatient surgery and/or procedures may have one designated visitor who will be permitted to assist with the arrival and registration process if needed. This visitor will leave the facility during the procedure/surgery, remain near the premises, and will be contacted by phone post-procedure/surgery.

• Lab/Imaging: For lab draws and imaging procedures there will not be anyone allowed to “buddy” with the patient. Pediatric patients or patients with disruptive behavior, behavioral health diagnoses, altered mental status, developmental delays, or safety concerns may have one visitor (parent or guardian).

*Exceptions to the NO Visitor policy will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
Visitation policy is subject to change and updates are in accordance with best practice guidelines provided by the CDC and continued monitoring of local infection rates.
