Have you started your story yet, all entries are due July 24. We will be announcing the winners of the story challenge August 3. The selected winner in each category, elementary and middle school, will receive an Acer Chromebook 315 15.6” Laptop Computer.
CHALLENGE: We are challenging your elementary and middle school children to get creative and write their own ‘Once upon a time’ story, a fairy tale, fantasy, or myth.
ELEMENTARY – A Six Word Story: ‘Once Upon a Time’ with pictures. Utilize only six words to tell your story, pictures should be included to further illustrate the story.
MIDDLE SCHOOL – Write a fiction or non-fiction short story using the theme, ‘Once Upon a Time’. The short story should be between 400 – 600 words. This must be an original short story written by the child making the submission, and may include pictures.
Don’t forget to participate in the library’s online summer program “Once Upon a Time”, based on myths, fairy tales, and fantasy. Online programming is available on Barron Library’s Facebook, with stories and activities posted every day.
