OCFR responds to house fire

Posted

OKEECHOBEE — On Thursday, June 6, during the mid afternoon hours, Okeechobee County Fire Rescue received multiple calls in reference to a structure fire on N.W. 160th St. Upon arrival, the large structure was fully involved requiring the mobilization of nearly all OCFR resources. Fire crews on scene battled the heavy fire conditions driven by the strong winds for hours.

Despite the rapid response and valiant efforts of the fire crews, the home was a complete loss. OCFR extends  deepest sympathies to the affected family.

OCFR also extends gratitude to Highlands County Fire Rescue for their mutual aid assistance. This level of cooperation underscores the strength of the firefighting community.
