Robert "Bob" Lawrence Keebler, Jr., 79, of Okeechobee, Florida, passed away on October 21st, 2026.
Bob was born on March 25, 1947, in Pennsylvania. He later made his way to Florida, living for a time in Homestead before settling in Okeechobee, where he raised his three sons.
Bob proudly served in the United States Navy, where he worked aboard a nuclear submarine, the USS Sand Lance. Following his military service, he built a long career with Florida Power & Light, where he worked until his retirement.
Faith was an important part of Robert's life. He was a God-fearing man who was active in his church and with Gideons International, and he particularly enjoyed being involved with the AWANA program and youth.
Bob was a man of many interests and seemingly endless curiosity. He was an avid recycler and reclaimer of metals, recovering everything from copper to gold and finding value in things others might have overlooked. A devoted numismatist, he collected coins and paper money, as well as stamps and an impressive assortment of pencil sharpeners. He was also an oil painter and enjoyed fishing.
Bob loved playing cards of just about every kind, but if we're being completely accurate, he especially enjoyed winning. A game of cards was never simply a way to pass the time when there was a perfectly good opportunity to beat the people sitting across the table.
He is survived by his former wife and longtime friend, Patricia Keebler, with whom he raised their three sons: Ben (Meredith) Keebler, Richard Keebler, and Steven (Angela) Keebler. He is also survived by five grandchildren: Chrysta (Noah Helm) Keebler, Zachary Keebler, Evie Keebler, Alexis Archbold, and Olivia Keebler. Bob's family also extended beyond biology. Travis Boese and Henry Chen held a special place in his life as men he considered his sons. He also leaves behind his extended family and friends.
Memorial Service led by Pastor Tom Pasquarella will be held November 21st, 2026 at 12pm at Christ Fellowship (former site of Grace Brethren Church where he was very active for many years), with a potluck reception to follow.
